<< Back This shares the story of my mother-in-law, 'Mamma Loie'. She was such an awesome, Godly woman with the most beautiful white hair and a warm, loving smile always flashing across her face. I only knew her for a year and a half, she was my 'mother-in-law' for only about 9 months before she passed away. She was easy to fall in love with and fun to tease. She loved the Lord and I can honestly picture her walking the streets of heaven singing praise to Him. There have been many things happen in our lives since her passing, some hard, some wonderful, but whatever the moment might be it is nice to find a place inside where we can picture her with a smile on her face watching over us. It's been said, "you never know if the next person you meet is an angel" ....sometimes I wonder. Angel in Heaven It's not every day That we get to know Someone who truly lives The love of God But, when I think about your mom I know we were truly blessed 'Cause everything about her Expressed His love and now There's a new angel in heaven She's a new angel in heaven Singing praises to Him as they Walk along the streets of gold With her silver hair and smile of love Always watching wherever we go In times when we feel alone And life seems so dark When the world around us Doesn't seem to care We can look upon the brightest star And find our angel there There's a new angel She's a new angel in heaven Singing praises to Him as they Walk along the streets of gold With her silver hair and smile of love Always watching where ever we go There's a new angel in heaven Yea, she's a new angel in heaven, now << Back This I wrote for my precious little Shelby. My first child! A little girl. I was about 26 years old when I had my first child and I never understood what the 'big' deal was with having a child. Then I had my Shelby ... WOW! As she grew I was so amazed. She was such a little person at 2 years of age, so independent [she even asked her Daddy when she could get her own check book]. She was the most precious thing to me. I wanted to give her something that would show her how special she was to me, but mostly I wanted her to be able to look back at this song to think about God's love for her. That He would always be there for her wherever, when ever. If I would happen to pass away while she was still young, to remember in Him there is always hope. Shelby you still amaze me. I love you! As Long As You Know The day I gave birth to you Was one of the greatest Moments in my life I never really knew Just how precious you'd Become to me As long as you know Wherever you go You will never walk alone There's a greater love than mine It will be with you for all time As long as you know You will never truly know How I treasure watching you grow Seeing your first smile Now you're two years old and Doing so much on your own As long as you know Wherever you go You will never walk alone There's a greater love than mine It will be with you for all time As long as you know Of all the things I teach you The thing I want you To really know There's a greater love than mine A greater love that shelters you A hand that will always hold you As long as you know << Back This is a tribute to my father-in-law, Grandpa Richie as our kids used to call him. I wrote this for him on his 70th birthday as a way to express to him how much he is loved by his grandchildren. My father-in-law is a quiet and very godly man who is not much for rough housing, but great for sharing his treats and telling stories. Those are things that his grandchildren look forward to. Grandpa This is a story about a man we know He was born in the country 70 years ago Now this isn't just another man This is our Grandpa and this is our gift to him We're still too young to really know How great Grandpa is One thing we know is that he loves us so We want to tell him how much he means to us Grandpa we hope you know That we think the world of you And we look forward to the times We get to spend with you We know that you're a quiet man And that you're gentle too We may not rough house when we play Hey, that's okay We like when you sit with us and tell us stories When you come by our house And share your snacks with us These are the things that are special between us Grandpa we hope you know That we think the world of you And we look forward to the times We get to spend with you Daddy says that you love Jesus And that you pray for us We hope some day when we are big We will love Jesus like you You must be a gift from heaven 'Cause you're the bestest Grandpa there is Grandpa we hope you know That we think the world of you Oh, Grandpa, you mean the world to each of us << Back In the fall of '99 my oldest sister came to visit my family in the Midwest. It had been quite sometime since we had seen each other so we had a lot of talking to do. As we would sit and talk for hours, we started talking about God, heaven and death. My sister had so many questions inside of her and there was a lot she didn't understand about what the Bible said about having a relationship with God through His Son. This song came as I let her and my nieces get on a plane without even praying one more time with them. I wanted my sister to know that I love her, that God's love for her was just as real as mine. Ultimately, that I could not imagine heaven without her. Lynnee Here I am standing in the window Watching your plane pull away Tears flood my eyes as I whisper A final good-bye Then I prayed for you Lynnee do you know What you mean to me Lynnee do you know His love is as real as mine Lynnee will you be in Heaven with me Oh, Lynnee do you know I know you have a lot of questions So much you don't understand Can you look beyond what is unknown And let Him in He will teach you as you walk with Him If only you could know Lynnee do you know What you mean to me Lynnee do you know His love is as real as mine Lynnee will you be in Heaven with me I don't know all the answers And I can't make you believe All I can do is pray for you And show you what Jesus has done in me Lynnee do you know What you mean to me Lynnee do you know I love you Lynnee will you be in Heaven with me Oh, Lynnee I want you To be in heaven with me Lynnee do you know << Back Well this is a celebration song. I wrote this after my sister Lynn gave her life to Christ. Have you ever prayed so intensely for someone's salvation, that when it happens everything in you wants to burst! That is how I felt. I had prayed for my sister for 12 years and the day finally came! All I could do was give God praise for His grace and for, in His time, answering my prayers. At a time when I wasn't so sure that day would ever arrive, here it was. That was very humbling. Don't give up on those you pray for ... in His time! Child of the King At times it was hard for me Not to preach to you He always seemed to say Everything will be okay Believe in Me There are no words to describe What I'm feeling inside I have waited for this day For so long ... All I can do is look to the cross Lay my heart down at His feet And give Him praise, you've been born again You've been washed in His blood now You're a child of the King, yea, you're a child of the King I'm beginning to see Just how amazing His grace can be in times when I feel I can't pray any more There He is being faithful to me All I can do is look to the cross Lay my heart down at His feet And give Him praise, you've been born again You've been washed in His blood now You're a child of the King, yea, you're a child of the King When you start to doubt He will lift you up There will be nothing you can do 'cause He will be carrying you and All you can do is look to the cross Lay your heart down at His feet And give Him praise, you're born again You've been washed in His blood, praise God You're a child of the King, yea, You're a child of the King Oh, sister (friend) of mine, praise God You're a child of the King << Back I wrote this for my son Ricky when he was two years old. He had these beautiful blue eyes and he looked just like his daddy! The song is really the story ... a mother's prayer for her son. When he is grown I want him to be able to look back at this and know that even when he was just getting started, it was already my prayer for him to love his Lord with all of his heart, to stand for his faith and to be the type of man Jesus was ... loving, faithful and forgiving. There is just something about the way little boys look at their mom's, that even on the worst day ... can bring out a smile. He looks like his daddy, but is a goofy one like me! I love you Ricky! Eyes So Blue Here you are my little boy with eyes so blue You look like your daddy, but have a little of me too, I like to watch you sleep at night Wondering which of us you will be like Will you be the quiet type like your Daddy Or will you be a goofy one like me I pray more than anything that you will be Like the One who made you for me Will you be a man of God standing up for what you believe I hope you'll be like Jesus and love Him with all your heart Be like Jesus, oh, Just like Jesus You're already growing so fast I can already see how sensitive you're going to be 'Cause when I have a rainy day When the sun just doesn't seem to shine You look at me with your eyes so blue I can already see some of Jesus in you Oh, I pray more than anything that you will be Like the One who made you for me Will you be a man of God standing up for what you believe I hope you'll be like Jesus and loving Him with all your heart Be like Jesus, oh, Be like Jesus Oh, Just like Jesus My son with your eyes so blue I pray everyday for you That you'll know the price Jesus paid for you Even years from now when you are grown You'll still be my little boy with eyes so blue And I know that I will see Jesus in you Just like Jesus Be like Jesus Oh, my son, Be like Jesus, the One Who made you for me << Back I wrote this as a Mother's Day gift for my 'California Mom.' I have an extended family in Northern California that has loved me as their own daughter for the past 16 years. They were there for me during some difficult times at the end of my teen years and they continue to be there. I wanted to tell her in a special way how much I appreciate her and I still don't think she knows how much God used her in my life. The other thing I like about this is it shows how, if we as adults are willing, God can use us to make a difference in a teenager's life. Think about it. Thanks Char! I love you [Papa Bear, Patrick, Cody & Chad] Thank You When I look back to where I've come from I see that I need to take some time To thank you once again for being my friend I don't think you realize how much God has used you in my life Thank you for being my friend You were there for me when I needed someone When I needed to laugh and When I needed to cry You were there I don't think you realize how much God has used you in my life Thank you for being my friend There was a time when I felt alone Then you gave me a family You gave me a place to belong When I needed someone you were there Every time, it was you standing there You need to know how thankful I am To have you in my life I don't think you realize how much God has used you in my life Thank you for being my friend Thank you for being my friend Yea, thank you for being my friend Thank You! << Back One day in the early 90's I was talking to a relative in Southern California. She was about 23 years old, caught in a world of drugs and a boyfriend who would not let go. As we visited on the phone I could hear how lost, lonely and hurt she was. I was living 1,700 miles away not really able to do anything to help change the situation, but I knew that God was there. I knew that He loved her despite the things she was involved in and that if she could only find Him, she would not be alone, that He could help her get through this horrible time in her young life. 1 think mostly I wanted her to find unconditional real love. The love I had found in a relationship with Jesus. Do You Know I was thinking about you Knowing it's your birthday I tried to call, but you weren't around So many things you told me Last time I talked to you You said you wanted a new life That the old one just won't do Do you know you don't have to be alone Do you know there's someone who loves you Do you know that if you'll Take Him as your friend He'll be with you until the end I know you've fallen on hard times It hurts to see you in pain And although I'm not there I want you to know that I care Do you know you don't have to be alone Do you know there's someone who loves you Do you know that if you'll Take Him as your friend He'll be with you until the end Do you know you don't have to be alone Do you know there's someone who loves you Do you know that if you'll Take Him as your friend He'll be with you until the end Do you know, there's someone who loves you (Continues...)
